Barbara.
I’m known for being quiet and shy, but I’m getting better at speaking up more. I’ve always been better at writing than I have been at speaking. I’m hoping that by writing more, I can articulate my thoughts and opinions better out loud. I’ve always loved reading, and I don’t really have a favorite genre. I’ll read anything from non-fiction to comics. I’m a huge Disney fan. I love food. I don’t know how to cook, but one of my goals is to learn at least a few dishes by the time I graduate. My favorite sports are tennis and basketball, but I don’t mind watching any sport. Those are the two I follow the most.

One of the reasons I wanted to start a blog again is to be able to share what I’m thinking or feeling with everyone else. And I want to express my thoughts without caring as much about what other people think. I also want to share my experiences as a Pinay/Pilipina-American and connect those experiences to other things going on in the world. That’s just a part of what this website will be for.

Website History
I started to learn about basic HTML around 1999-2000. My first “websites” were on Angelfire and Tripod. I got more interested in web design and learned more about graphic design too. My CSS and Photoshop skills got better, and I started to interact more with other people who had their own personal websites. Eventually, I got my site hosted on someone else’s domain. About a year or two later, my host at the time decided she wasn’t going to renew her domain. That’s when my friend Sarah offered to host me on her new domain. And that’s where my site (originally named Dreamland) has been since then. I stopped updating around 2005 when I started going to college, but I’ve decided to bring it back.

Around the time that Sarah started hosting me, my interests shifted more towards graphic design. I spent more of my time making blends, wallpapers, and livejournal icons. This lasted for about a year before I had less free time to spend. Now that I’ve improved with managing my time better, I’m hoping that I can start making more graphics again, and add to my portfolio.
