I’ll write another post about love and how complicated it is in another post. But the past 4 months have convinced me that I really need to take the time to take care of myself first. This is the time for me to be on my own and really learn to love myself for who I am. And because of that, the key to my heart doesn’t belong to anyone but me right now. Or at least that’s how I want it to be. Honestly, it still hurts sometimes and I wonder whether or not “the key” is still with someone else. That’s why I want to buy a new bracelet, necklace, or earrings. I don’t wear jewelry right now, except for earrings. And the earrings that I wear aren’t even fancy. But I really want to buy something with a heart-shaped lock and a key. Just to remind myself that the key to my heart doesn’t belong to anyone else. Yet.

Google Chrome. It’s still in beta, so at first I wasn’t sure if I wanted to try it. But I figured it wouldn’t hurt to see if it would live up to the hype. I think it’s pretty good for a beta, but I’m still using Firefox as my default browser. I’ve been using Google Chrome for anything Google related for the past week, and I’ve tried going to other sites that I visit often just to see how the browser performs. I’ll talk about some of the features that people have been talking about and the features that I like/dislike the most. (black means neutral)
- application shortcuts - I think this feature is mostly for Google services, like Gmail, but you can use it for other things too. Basically, when you create an application shortcut, it’s like a bookmark on your desktop. The difference is that when the window for that shortcut opens, it looks more like a program than a browser. I’ve saved Gmail, Google Docs, Google Calendar, and Google Maps with this feature and I really like it. Having that shortcut makes it convenient and it lets me keep those things separate from other sites that I’m browsing. Continue reading ‘Google Chrome’
Official Google Blog: A fresh take on the browser
I’ll talk about Google Chrome in another post, but for this post I’ll just talk about Google in general. I was at work the other day when I found out that Google officially made its browser (Google Chrome) available to the public. I wasn’t too surprised, but it just reminded me how much power Google has. I admit that I’m definitely a huge user of Google products. Gmail and Google Calendar are a part of my daily life. But I still think it’s crazy how Google just started out as a search engine. Now it’s ventured into everything from email to web browser. It doesn’t seem impossible for a Google operating system to come out one of these days.
I don’t know what people think of Google, but I’m sure there are as many critics as there are fans. And I don’t think Google products are perfect, but they are convenient. Not just on a personal level, but also for organizations. It’s easier to keep a group of people on the same page when there’s Google Groups, Google Docs, and even Google Calendar. Gmail on its own helps a lot with the options of having filters and labels. Not to mention how much easier it is to keep track of replies when all the emails are grouped together into one conversation. I don’t even use the chat feature of Gmail, but I know a lot of my friends use it since they’re already on Gmail most of the time anyway.
There are still people who prefer Yahoo or Hotmail over Gmail. And I’m sure there are still some people who don’t know about all the different products that Google offers and the more subtle features that those products have. I’m still finding out new things about Google Maps and Picasa. But even though Google doesn’t rule the world, it’s more than just a search engine now. It’s starting to become a way of life.
First of all, thanks to my wonderful friend&hostess Sarah for installing Wordpress for me!
I was going to delete this, but then I realized it’s probably a good way to start off an intro post.
Hello world. I’m back! I’ve missed updating my site. And right now I’m using a theme from Scribblescratch.com, but hopefully I’ll be using my own theme soon. I’ve missed using Photoshop too.
I really hope that I’ll update this as often as I want to. At least I’m not limiting myself to talking about my daily life. I’ll try to comment on current events, and maybe I’ll even write some reviews (movies, food, etc). We’ll see what happens.
